The national day and a day of rest is:
24 February, Independence Day and anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.

5) 2 November – All Souls’ Day;

§ 3¹. Üleriigiline lein
Vabariigi Valitsus võib välja kuulutada üleriigilise leina.
Leinapäeval, 14. juunil, ei korraldata leinaga kokkusobimatuid avalikke üritusi.
§ 3¹. National mourning
(1) The Government of the Republic of Estonia may declare a period of national mourning.
(2) No public events incongruous with mourning may be held on 14 June, the Day of Mourning.
§ 4. Pühade ja tähtpäevade arvestaminecase law
Käesolevas seaduses nimetatud pühad ja tähtpäevad arvestatakse gregooriuse ehk uue kalendri järgi.
Rahvuspüha suhtes kohaldatakse teistes õigusaktides riigipühade ja riiklike pühade kohta sätestatut.
§ 4. Determination of public holidays and days of national importance
(1) The public holidays and days of national importance specified in this Act are determined on the basis of the Gregorian calendar.
(2) The provisions in other legislative acts regarding public holidays and days of national importance apply to the national day.

§ 6. Seaduse jõustumine
Käesolev seadus jõustub 1998. aasta 23. veebruaril.
§ 6. Entry into force of this Act
This Act enters into force on 23 February 1998.
