Two free extensions bring LegalWise to where a lawyer’s day goes: the page of the law and the contract being written. See how they work.

Browser extension (Chrome, Edge)
- ✓On Riigi Teataja and EUR-Lex, a mark beside every provision that has case law, an explanatory memorandum or your notes
- ✓In the mark’s panel: Supreme Court summaries, court decisions, committee decisions and the memorandum of the wording in force
- ✓“Follow case law”: an e-mail about every new decision applying the provision
- ✓Right-click selected text: “Ask LegalWise” or “Check references” on any page
- ✓The toolbar button opens all of LegalWise in the browser’s side panel — chat, documents, laws, search
Word add-in
- ✓Contract review: findings as Word comments at the clauses concerned, with the provision and a suggested wording
- ✓Citation check: every reference against the law in force — ✓ in force, ⚠ could not verify, ✗ repealed or no such subsection

What the extension sees
For the marks, the extension reads only the act’s identifier (from the page address), the provisions’ anchors and headings and the version date on Riigi Teataja and EUR-Lex pages. Text you select yourself and send to LegalWise with a right-click is used only for your question or citation check. The extension has no ads and no analytics.
Frequently asked questions
Are the extensions free?+
Yes, both extensions are free. Through them you use your own LegalWise account and plan: the marks and the citation check work with any account, contract review is in the Jurist plan.
Which browsers does it work in?+
Chrome and Edge; both install it from the Chrome Web Store.
How do I install the Word add-in?+
The “LegalWise in Word” page has a step-by-step guide: you download one file and add it in Word’s “Add-ins” menu. A firm’s administrator can install it for everyone at once.
Does my document stay with LegalWise?+
For a contract review the document’s text is sent to LegalWise and erased after 30 days; the report stays in your account. The citation check stores nothing.
