Security and confidentiality
Lawyers trust us with their clients' documents. Here, in short, is how we protect them and what we commit to.
Encrypted connection
All traffic between your browser and the service goes over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
The database is not reachable from the internet
Only the service's application talks to the database; it cannot be connected to directly from outside.
Passwords and sign-in
Passwords are stored only as a strong one-way hash, sign-in sessions are protected, and an account needs a confirmed e-mail address.
Documents delete themselves
The text of an uploaded document is deleted automatically after 30 days. You can delete the review report and everything else yourself at any time.
No training, no selling, no ads
Your questions and documents are never used to train models, for advertising or profiling, and are never sold.
Your team sees only what you share
In a law firm team, colleagues see only the notes you shared with the team. Chats and documents are always personal.
You control your data
Download all your data in Settings, and delete your chats, all your data or the whole account with one click.
Backups
The database is backed up every night and each backup is kept for 7 days; deleted data leaves the backups within that time.
Data stays in the EU
The data is stored in Estonia. Some partners may process data outside the European Economic Area only on the grounds Chapter V of the GDPR allows.

If you notice a security issue or suspicious activity, write to info@legalwise.ee at once. We take every report seriously and answer as soon as we can.
